FAQs

Each year, we choose a local charity to spotlight as a way of giving back to our community. The chosen charity is invited to collect donations at our summer performances, and is highlighted in our website and concert programs throughout the year.

  • We support non-profit organizations and charities in Athens-Clarke County and surrounding areas which:

    • Fill local needs and solve local problems through their services.

    • Demonstrate sound financial management of their resources.

    • Do not discriminate based on age, race, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, physical limitation, ability, or national origin.

Charities previously chosen as beneficiaries can apply again after 3 years.

  • Donations are voluntary on the parts of our audience, so we cannot guarantee a particular amount. The past several seasons have raised about $2,000 on average.

  • Download an application here, and submit by email to president@classiccitycommunitychorus.org with “Charity Application” in the subject line.

Applications can also be mailed (see our PO Box below) or returned through any member of CCCC, but we would still encourage giving us a heads-up via email to let us know an application is on the way!

  • In addition to the completed application (see above), the chosen charity should be prepared to provide a logo & information package for our website and concert programs, and to provide a representative to address the audience at each of our Summer Show performances in August. We typically have three performances (Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday evening), and invite the charity representative to speak for a few minutes to introduce themselves and their mission, and inspire the audience to donate.
